Nigeria is the giant of Africa with a population of over 200 million people, so there is some importance of transportation in Nigeria.

Nigeria is a very big country with a landmass of 356,376 square miles. The country is blessed with several natural and mineral resources.

Transportation is the movement of goods and services from one place to another. This can be done by Land, Sea, or Air.

Goods and Services are transported from one part of the country to another. for example food is mostly transported from the Northern part of the country of the Southern part of the country.

There is much importance of transportation in Nigeria but let’s look at some few once.

For example, the northern Nigerians are mostly into farming, so the foodstuff is mostly transported from the Northern part of the country to the Southern part.

Mobile Phones and Electronics, Industrial Materials, and processed foodstuff like pasta, noodles, and so on are transported from the southern part of Nigeria to the Northern part of the country.

Without transportation, the movement of goods and services will be impossible in Nigeria and it will create a kind of imbalance in the countries economy.

Transportation workers earn their living by transporting people from one location to the other.

Some goods are not produced in Nigeria but Nigerians use those goods like Electronics, Phones, Clothes, and even some kitchen utensils.

Transportation helps in the movement of these goods and services from one country to Nigeria.

It also helps in exporting our local product to other countries of the world. For example, cocoa is being exported from Nigeria to other countries of the World.

This has the potential of increasing our foreign exchange.

Economy Development

Another importance of transportation is that it develops the economy of a nation.

Goods and Services are being transported from one place to the other. and it helps a nation to grow.

It encourages local and foreign investors to invest in the economy of Nigeria. when there is a bad system of transportation investors would be discouraged to invest in the economy.
